When it comes to the holidays, we are always either stuck in a bind or we are tired because we are always running around to the holidays ready and sometimes that is not enough, especially when you are the only one cooking and decorating, so it hard on you. I have come up with 10 easy steps for you this holiday season, that will make the holidays a little smoother for you and the family. It would even be something that you can either cook, watch television or listen to the music and it also something that you can even do with the kids. Just know you can even repeats these steps for Christmas and all the years to come especially when you are in a bind and need help. Just take the holidays as easy as they can come, don't wait until the last minute to get things done, Start by doing a little bit everyday. As I whip up some apple pie in the even and also some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, getting Thanksgiving dinner all set for next week. Let take a peek of what I have to make the Holidays a little more easier for you to come........ 1) Always have a blank canvas When it comes to decorating, it a lot easier to have a blank canvas then to have all the stuff on one table or in a space where you have to decorate. It better to clean off the space first before you should decorate. 2) Make sure your home is clean This is the biggest tip that needs to be done prior to decorating and prior to making the food. Because a clean house is better then having a dirty one, because the reason why, because you don't know where to start and also you don't know what to do. So I suggest is having a clean home before starting any projects. 3) Always sort out your decorations before you put them up Before hanging any decorations up, you should go thought your decorations, so you know what you have and what you don't. Also make sure that none of them are broken, including the ones for inside and outside. 4) Check to see if your decorations are broken Make sure anything that none of these are broken, if they are, then make sure you have some spare money in your purse or in a jar, so you can at least go out and buy some new ones, but don;t go overboard on the decorations. 5) Also have Christmas music playing in the background In order to make it feel like the holidays, you can always put some Christmas music on and start either doing some decorating or cooking and just think that your family is there with you. 6) Always have something baking in the oven This is one is for the kids, you can always have them help make cookies or cupcakes and have them make it their own. Also you can have a cake. It sometimes hard when you are doing it alone. but it also give a time to think about things that you never thought of. When I have things that is cooking, I also have cookies, before it easier and also it don't take that much time. 7) If not music, then have Christmas movies on to make it feel like the holidays Also you can also have Christmas movies playing in the background, I know there are some tv stations that have Christmas movies on. They might give you the inspiration you are looking for when you decide to decorate your home. 8) Make sure every dish in your home are clean This is very important to do and make sure they are clean and also make sure that they are stack up high in order to make a big mess. Also try to make sure that every pan in the house is clean, because you are going to need it for at least a holiday, just don't know which one. 9) Always ave a backup turkey or ham Always have a back up turkey or ham. because you never know when you might end up screwing it up, especially when it your first time baking. Speaking about someone who experience it. Yes, I know, to was little dry to a little of to much pepper to hardly no salt. 10) Always corporate old stuff with the new stuff This is something that I love and personally I do it all the time. Because that what makes the holidays feel special, which I love. I love the fact that the old decorations can tell a story to the new decorations and it feels like a happy home.
If you have any tips that you would like to share, please leave them in the comments below. xoxo Alexis

When it comes to the holidays, I am never prepared, because it comes so fast. Just like when I set up a diy and I put on a certain day, I will miss that day and it never easy to make plans and it goes fast and you cannot get to them. So I try to do them a couple of days an advanced more like every Sunday. When it comes to decorating, I am complete excited about it. I like the fact that I get to decorate my home for the holidays, not just for others, but for me, because I love it. I have never thought about doing or bringing up 12 must haves for thanksgiving or for the holidays. I just know that it was time to do something different for a change, especially for the holidays and for the new year that is rolling around. I have decided to do 12 must haves for thanksgiving. Let take a peek and see what I have created and what I have experienced. 1) Always and Always wear comfortable clothing and footwear Because of this, you are always going to be on your feet and on the run, especially running around trying to make sure that all the food is done also trying to get your family in order, which is hard, because they are all scatter around. 2) Tricks to get the family together If you have a family like mines that don't bother speaking to each other for some odd reason. Then the trick that I have for you is, if you want to get the family together is write a heart felt letter explaining that you miss them and that you want to see them. They will make a point to come and see you. 3) When should I cook the Turkey or the Ham When I make my turkey, I always try to cook it the night before, for only an hour to two hours, because I like the crisp that it brings and also I like the juicy that it makes. Also I always be making other foods. So less time to make the turkey is the better way to go. But don't leave in oven. With the ham, I will slice the ham, so each slice can get some flavor going on. But I will try to cook it for 2 hours, with brown sugar, and pineapple juice. 4) Should I put out little snacks for the friends and the family who coming over To me, that is a no, because it would ruin their dinner and they won't eat as much. So that would be a no. If you want to, you can, only put out just a little bit, because you want them to eat to and not be full. 5) Always have drinks to and also have non -alcoholic drinks for those who can't drink When this comes about, I always have non- alcoholic drinks laying around in my home because not all us that drinks, then again I don't like having drinks in my home because I just don't. When it comes to drinks it totally up to you. I may not drink, but others to and I should not judge anyone for that.
What is your favorite tips? If you have any of your own, please comment below. xoxo Alexis What can I say about bell sleeve's. All I can say is that I don't like them. I wish they never made them or better yet made them a trend. Because I think they don't fit into any style, except the fact that they should never been made. I just wish that I can change my point a view on them, but I can't. I think they made them to grandma looking, instead of making them looking like a teenager. I think they miss a mark in them. To anyone who likes them, please help me why are they in someone closet, when I think they don't fit. Please help me understand and please help me define the bell sleeve's to me.
When I first saw these, all I saw was grandma, My own grandmother would not wear these type of shirts. She is more of a t shirt style girl that would never change. I just wish they would change it up a bit for others to like it as well instead of trying so hard to create something that was easy made. But so far, during the fall season I have not seen anyone wear them. Which is odd, because it suppose to be a fall trend. Maybe down the road, I will see people wear them and maybe ask them why do they like them, and what do they think about them. Because I would really like to know. So that why I won't be so harsh about them. But anyways, as I was looking they only come in one style. What happen to multiple of styles, I know that bell sleeve's can come in many forms. What happen? Did they run out of ideas or did they not care. There are many forms of people out there that likes different types of style's, I know I am. I am that type of person that like many styles, not the same styles like anyone else. I am kinda a snob when it comes to clothing and styling, because I am the different of others. I like the sex appeal, the stillettos, the confident, and many others and I think the bell sleeve's you are just hiding something or you decide to throw on anything. Do any of you like the bell sleeve's as your fall trend or as a trend in general? Please leave your comments below and I would love to see them. xoxo Alexis When it comes to cooking these, they are amazing. There one thing that I know for sure, they don't have to be perfect, because these are yours, not anyone else. When I made mine, I was thrilled because I know that they were mine and I didn't have to prove to anyone that they were made or if they had to be perfect. When I decided to make theses, I was skeptical, because I wasn't sure if I wanted to. But after a losing battle with my sister, I decided to make them. They were not hard to make at all, They were pretty easy. There no doubt about making these again.
What you need, is potatoes, cheese grater, and a bowl. In order for you to make these, please peel the potatoes and gently place them in a bowl or on a paper towel. After you get done peeling the potatoes, you can start grating them (Hint: inorder for you to make these you need the big cheese grater that can make the medium to big strips). After you get down grating them, you would want to stick them in the bowl with water, to wash them and then drain and simply place them in a paper towel to semi dry them. Then you would want to preheat your stove with some oil, It doesn't matter what oil you use, as long as it works, but when it comes to me, I like to use Vegetable oil at least 1/4 cup in a skillet frying pan. Preheat it and then take the potatoes and simple try to roll them in a ball or flat them like a hamburger, if you have to as safetly hazard, please place the potatoes on a spatula and place them in the pan of oil and let it set for a while and them flat them, so they can cook. Let them cook for about 5 minutes on each side so they can get golden brown. As a disclaimer, if you have peel like about 10 potatoes because you didn't know how much to cut inorder to make the Hash Browns, well it should not matter because it all despends how big you make your hashbrowns, some people like them small and some like them big, so it totally up to you. If you need help making them, simply send me a comment and I will give you a step by step guide of how to help, I am here 24/7. Does anyone like Hash browns? I know I do. If you have made them, or simply thinking about making them. Please comment below to give me your how to and your questions about making them. I would love to hear them and see them and simply post them on the blog. xoxo Alexis With the holiday season rolling around, I have not forget our everyday style, which means, I have not forgot about November Style Tips. I have been doing theses for so long and I am getting to the point where I am starting to learn about myself even more. It never to late to refresh your fall wardrobe, but when you do, I am going to give you a Quick tip: try to corporate your fall wardrobe with your winter, so that way you don't have to get so much, if you do it that why. There are so many wardrobe styles out there that we all tend to forget. When it comes to styling, I have never forget what my look is, except for the fact that I can't always wear what I really want to wear because I work 24/7, so I can't always be elegant the way that I want to. November means I can have a second chance at wearing what I want, which means that the holidays are here and I am really excited about it. When it comes to the Thanksgiving, we all can agree on that we all have plans to either make the menu or styling our outfits for the day Or should I say for the rest of the Holiday season. Whether this month inspires you to either dress your best or keep chic, I hope that today style tips would help you plan out your outfits for the holidays, or even thanksgiving or even all year. I have 10 outfits that would be good for you this Thanksgiving, Let's take a peek of what I have to give you the inspiration you need................ 1) The bold look: Long Cardigan The long Cardigan I would consider as a the bold look. With this look, you can always wear it with shorts, dress or most of all pants. The long Cardigan is something that I don't see anyone wear anymore. This look should be worn all the time when it comes to the holiday season, because it warm and also fun to wear. 2) The classic look: Legging The Legging, first of all let me start by saying that leggings are the number one comfortable clothing to wear this holiday season, because you can dress it up or dress it down. It totally up to you, as long as you know how to style them the right way and not the wrong way. I am totally in aww, when it comes to Leggings. 3) The Elegant look: Pencil Skirt The pencil skirt, is something that is elegant to me, because it is. It even means that you are fancy in some way and you will tend to wear this look if you are into it. You will totally work this look for the holiday season and also you would also be in aww if you are the only one that is wearing it. 4) The sporty look: Sweatshirt The Sweatshirt is more like the sporty look for me and also the only fashion that you can look and feel comfortable in. One thing that I like about the whole look is that we can wear it any way we want to, without looking like we are all trying so hard. This look totally can rock the holiday season. 5) The preppy look: The plaid When it comes to plaid, I always think of the movie Clueless, because they were the preppy girls in the movie. But anyways, if you like plaid for the holiday season, go for it, because to be honest, there is no right or wrong way to wear it. Just a reminder, make sure you take out a color from the plaid that you are wearing and you will be all set. 6) The Gothic Look: Black When it comes to the Gothic look this holiday season, it gets kind of like Halloween for thanksgiving, so it might as well be Hallogiving or Thanksoween, I may like Halloween and my favorite color may be black, but I don't think all black should be worn for the holidays, especially for thanksgiving even though I know that they worn black for thanksgiving years ago, but I don't think so and also Christmas. So if you decide to wear black this season, make sure you wear it the correct way. 7) The Casual Look: Comfortable It really important to be Comfortable this holiday season and everyday, especially when you have had a long day at work and you need to be comfortable. I always need to be comfortable it does not matter what I am doing. So if you are like me, then this look is the one for you. 8) The Trendy look: Basically anything I am not the kind that would go for trendy things, because they are not for me. Don't take it personally, I don't like to waste my money on things that I don't wear or use. I always try to buy things that I love and also would use. Trendy to me is something that you see everyone would wear, but not for me. I am totally different. I don't like to wear what everyone else is wearing. So if you are that type of person that likes to wear what everyone else is wearing then this look is for you. 9) The Street Look: Track Suit When it comes to street style, we all wear this look and we all enjoy this look. But the question is in question, where did it came from and who started this trend. I know for sure that I don't follow this look neither, but I decided to include it because I know that everyone loves it and it might be in their closet. I know for sure I probably won't follow the trend. If this look is yours, I hope that you can start sending me pictures, so I can see it from first hand from other people. 10) The Bohemian Look: Plain and Simple Boho look is still set in trend, but not in my closet. I think boho comes in many forms and many styles for people, but when I see it, I think of the 70 era, which I am not a big fan of. I am not much of a fan for the 70 era. I think it too much print and not enough of certain colors and to much denim. I am not much of a Denim girl, but all I do know is you should follow a style just for you and not what other people style is.
What Style are you going for this November? Which one is your favorite? Please leave in the comments below. xoxo Alexis |
