There is no way that I can say that I don't like Velvet. When absolutely I do. It one of my favorite fabrics of all time. When I first started liking Velvet I believe I was picking out a dress for a school dance. I absolutely fell in love with it. But I couldn't afford it, because it cost to much. So it was love at first sight. So ever since that day, I been in love with Velvet and never going back. When Velvet became a trend, I was like, no one likes Velvet, Why, is it a trend. But then, I see fashion designers bringing out Velvet in there collection. So my guess is, everyone is starting to like Velvet. Which is a good thing.
When I decided to start looking at Velvet clothing, it was hard, because not many stores have or carry the clothes. So I have to somewhat make my own, which was hard. Because I think and believe that Velvet been out for many years, and it seems like to me they are trying to make it a trend each year, knowing that it always been out. It been a trend long before designers started to make it into their collection. When I went to a thrift store, it like maybe 30 blocks to where I live, I was able to find 5 yards of Velvet Fabric, which was a good thing, But I am not sure what to make out of it. Because I am having trouble. So I am letting it sit. When I first heard that Velvet was going to be another trend this year, I decided to make a almost series, where there might be like 3 parts to it. But I am not sure, because I think everybody else is talking about it. So I might sit on it for a bit. But anyways, when it comes to Velvet, there are many styles you can do, in order to style it, because Velvet is that type of fabric where you can do no right or wrong way in doing it. It just comes with a look all on it own. When you decide to start liking or wearing Velvet, there one thing that you need to know is that it is a hair collector, you might want to keep the lent roller on hand, or maybe multiples. When you try to wash it, turn it inside out, that way the velvet part don't get ruin, from all the lent fuz and hair that attracts the washer and dryer. If you like Velvet please tell me what type of Velvet do you like, they come in many forms from shoes to sweaters to handbags. Please leave in the comments below and I will be glad to see what you came up with. xoxo Alexis

When I was a kid, I always love Autumn, because of the smell that it brings. When the leaves fall on the ground, and also the colors of leaves. I always wonder where autumn comes from, but I never really known for sure. Now after many years, I decided to do my searched. So here we go, with the History of Autumn.
Autumn is the September equinox of when it first begin, either on September 21 or the 24 and it ends on December 21. It marks the cold began, the leaves starts to change, and it evens marks the way for fall fashions which is my favorite. I never thought that Autumn would be my favorite season, but it is. I love the way that it smells during the night, when the sun bakes the leaves. It shows that Autumn is here. In the United States and Canada it is also known as Fall. But in other countries it known as Autumn. One thing about Autumn that I love, is that it associated with Halloween, one of my favorite Holidays. I love Halloween. I can't wait to show all of my home decor with you all. But anyways, Autumn is the season, that brings on a lot of tourist people out, to look at the foliage that each states has, when it comes to Autumn. I know when living in Michigan, we have the best Autumn scenery that you can ever imagine. So what is your favorite Season, Mine is Autumn. Please leave in the comments below. xoxo Alexis #Autumn #TakeFiveTuesdays #September When it comes to decorating for fall, sometimes we don't know what to put on our walls, except going to the stores and buying something that is expensive, when we know that we should not. When it is time to decorate for fall, do we actually have a time to do it or can we just decorate when we want to. When I decided to create my wall decor I actually had fun doing it, because it that type of project that can do over, over and over again. When I first began my project, it was something that I didn't expect to do or see it how it turn out. I have not put it up yet. It just sitting on my fireplace, waiting for me to put it up, which I probably put up sometime this week. When creating something like this was fun and I can see myself, making more in the future.
Step 1: Find some window clings that you like at any store. Make sure they are the ones that you like, You do need any glue for this project. Step 2: Find some picture frames that you like, It can be any size, just know how many window clings you are putting inside the frame. Step 3: Take the window clings and some water and put them inside the water, so they can be wet when you put them on the glass piece of the frame. Now, you would want to put the clings on the inside of the frame where they are facing inward, where you can't touch them when you put the frame back together. Step 4: Now, that you have done all the steps, you are done, you can simply put it anywhere you like. What is your favorite Diy this season, please let me know what you think in the comments below. xoxo Alexis In the next coming week, Captivate Style's will be getting a whole new makeover. So if you see anything going on, it probably why. I have decided that it time for a change. It a good change for me and my blog. I have been blogging for almost 6 years with this blog, I only change the name once and it staying the same. But it had many makeovers and now it time for a good permanent one where I can have more people come to my site and advertise. This has took a while to do, because I am not that type of person that like to change her blog, because I like it. It something that I like.
When you look at it, we all need a change from time to time. So now my it time for my blog needs a change. So The blog will be getting a whole new makeover from top to bottom. In the back of my mind, I didn't really wanted to do a makeover, because I know that I could keep it the way that I had it, but when you look deep down it needed to be change. Which I found someone that knows weebly and that knows what they are doing. So it a good thing. So yes, Captivate Style's is getting a makeover. If you would like to know anything, please leave in comments below. xoxo Alexis When it came to Fall decor for your home, I was in complete cannon, ready to explode. Because I realized that this is the last week of September and I have not done any Diy for you. So after the ones that I did for my home, I decide to share with you guys. Because there is still time for some fall diy for your home or for a friend. When I decided to do this one Diy, I see it all over and I decided to do my own and make it my own. I believe I see this on You tube, on google in the search engine and now I have done it. It was fun doing it and it was fun creating something that I know how to do. There no other pictures of me doing the project, I rather just explain it to you rather then showing whole bunch of pictures. So let take a peek of what I have for you. Here we go........... Step 1: Find some letters that you like, it doesn't have to be perfect letters or the fact that the whole project is crooked. When it comes to the letters, find the ones that you like, it doesn't have to be wooden, you can also used foam board, like I did, and paint it. When it comes to the letters part, if you can't afford the letter, you can always go searching on the internet and find the ones that you like and trace it on paper and then trace it on the foam board. Step 2: Cut the letters out, but as a declaimer, be careful when cutting, because you don't want to hurt them or you when you decided to use a blade to cut out the letters. Then after you cut them out, it time to paint them, pick a color that you like and go from them. There is no right or wrong way to this project. Step 3: Now find 4 4 by 6 or 4 5 by 7 pictures frames and glue or use mounting tape, to make them hold on the pictures frames. Also if you have to you can use the big picture frame, but it entirely up to you how you want to do it, before you think you are done, try to use fall theme or Halloween theme for the background inside the picture frame for the fall sign. Step 4: Now it up to you where you want to put it. With me, it going to be on my shelf when I am done, cleaning up my house. So basically you are done. What is your favorite fall diy decor this season? Please leave it in the comments below. xoxo Alexis |
